Salvaged, destroyed, and remade denim.

A recycled pair of white jeans, with original tags still intact, was rescued from its demise in a landfill. Untouched & unworn, these formerly bright-white jeans were never given their own story arc in the carbon cycle. Post-rescue, they’ve been reborn with a story of what could have been: a full life cycle, worn down by both time and utility. Now, they’ve been remade to tell the imagined narrative of an owner who employed them, respected them, and repaired them over a lifetime.

Materials & Details:
Lightweight denim, 100% cotton. Hand-dyed in a small scale vat for a mid-stained ombré effect, layered with staining and hand-painted imperfections. Distressing throughout for a destroyed and disintegrated effect. Patched & repaired with recycled denim and cotton twill subjected to a homemade indigo vat. Features several visible mending techniques including machine darning and sashiko stitching by hand.
