The m. dibble vignette series (numbered 00.), is comprised of sporadic conceptual pieces, or vignettes, which explores a unique theme or idea independent of a full capsule collection. The first vignette, composed of two related pieces, is titled 00 γ-235 and will be released alongside the first capsule collection on June 13th. The name, γ-235, references both the fissile isotope of uranium that sustains a nuclear reaction as well as the destructive gamma form of radioactive decay. This vignette is inspired by Kyo’s 2017 performance of Dir en Grey’s magnum opus Vinushka during the Androgynos -a view of the acro- live set at the Yokohama Arena. The song is an emotional exploration that dives into the aftermath of nuclear warfare and the lived experiences of civilians in the wake of destruction.

The second of the two γ-235 pieces is a pair of Kaihara denim jeans that have been aged and sashiko stitched by hand to create a boro piece in the visage of a tattered American flag. The vintage materials that comprise the flag boro are from the war era as well as the years following. This piece features inset patches, multiple composite layers of textiles, hand distressing/antiquing, hand stitched sashiko, and a variety of antique Americana patches.
